Why should I set an email contact?
We recommend you set an email contact so you can receive information specific to your cPanel control panel sent out by your service provider. You should also set your email contact to an address that does not use the same domain as one your control panel is using.
For example, if our cPanel control panel is using www.cpx3demo.com, we need to use an email address similar to joe@domain.com and NOT joe@cpx3demo.com. This will insure that you receive all updates and notifications from your service provider.
To set your email contact address in cPanel, follow the instructions below.
1. Login to cPanel.
2. When the page loads, click on the "Update Contact Info" link in the Preferences section.

3. Enter an email address that is not associated with this domain in the "Contact Email" text box.

4. Click on the "Save Email" button.

5. You should see a confirmation statement as shown below:
"Contact Email has been set to username@domain.com for yourdomain.com."
6. Click on the "Go Back" link to modify the email again or click on the "Home" link in the top right of the control panel interface to return to the home page.
